![]() ![]() It's definitely a step up from the Craftsman 101 that I bought earlier this year. ![]() Now it's set up in my shop, and I've already put it to work. The gentleman who previously owned it was a machinist by trade who also had a wide range of other interests, including electronics ( he had used this lathe to wind coils.) He had taken good care of this machine, and used it right up until about 6 weeks before he died, at age 99. This unit was built in 1975 and has always been in a home shop. And we bought it.after I ran it through it's different speeds, listened to it, cleaned off the ways and looked at and felt everything I could think to examine. Being an underhanded, manipulative old fart, I managed to get us straight to the one that advertised an Emco Mentor 10 lathe. A week ago last Friday my wife & I set out to hit a few estate sales and the like. ![]()
